In the paper today, there was an article that discusses all that is going on in Jacksonville. Its true, Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017, and one reason is the low cost of living. So much has been said about low land prices, low housing prices, low daily expenses and fuel prices. The secret is getting out to the people who are visiting Jacksonville.

Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017Amazon is planning to bring not 1, but 2 distribution warehouses to Jacksonville. Further proof that Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017. The hiring is set to take place by mid-2017, with 1500 jobs, of which 500 plan to be for people to make $50,000 or more. That is a direct $25 million or more into the local economy, from 1 vendor. They plan to add a 2nd warehouse here in Jacksonville, it was announced today. With more than 2500 people to be employed in Jacksonville by Amazon, it still has a long way to go to reach the 45,000 employed by the US Navy. These jobs and Jacksonville’s low costs, should be a door opener to add more investment from Amazon in the future.

Ikea to open on Southside

Well, Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017 with the opening of their new IKEA store. With 290,000 square feet of space, the facility plans to employ 250 people and provide parking for up to 1200 cars. This marks the 5th total IKEA in the state of Florida as compared to only 1 in Georgia, in Atlanta.

For those bands looking for an in the middle option of seating, 5000-6000, there is nothing, at the moment, available. The Arena is 12,000 and the Times Union Center is around 3,000. So it will be very nice when the new Jaguars Amphitheater is available for shows, beginning May 2017. For far too long, St. Augustine has taken shows away from Jacksonville and those who live near downtown will now have another reason to rejoice over the fact that Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017.

 

As you can see Jacksonville has so much going for it in 2017 and this will lead into a great 2018. More combat ships are coming to Jacksonville. More changes coming to St. Johns Town Center. The Interstate system will be completed in downtown Jacksonville.
